In short, this is a nicely made spring that comes with no additional hardware.Seems to be of OEM quality and the fit was perfect for a 1989 John Deere STX38.Be aware, as advertised this item comes with no additional hardware. When installing the spring on this mower, I had to wind the spring against itself, then insert the rod that holds everything in place. Your mileage may vary depending on which mower you have. This did fit my STX38 but be advised that there are several types of springs that will work for the STX38.
