Love this globe. Excellent quality with lots of detail including topography (can the mountain ranges). Has a internal battery that you can charge (6 hrs for first time) and then unplug and it will illuminate from within for 5 minutes when touched! (If you can chose to keep plugged in the wall and use the cord switch) . Beautiful wood base. Globe is very light weight and is not attached to the base.
